Lumbini Medical College (LMC) was established in a beautiful place Tansen. As LMC is located at Tansen, Palpa, Nepal understanding the need for a Medical College& Teaching Hospital PVT.LTD became visible and immediately a 100-bed hospital was founded in the year 2063 B.S. with authorization from the Ministry of Health and Population. As health is a major duty of the government, it is way too full of problems to hope and demand the need of the government only. Because of this, a large project was used in a stepwise process by deploying local regional Nepalese enterprises. Lumbini Medical College (LMC) is affiliated to Kathmandu University. LMC has also been given permission to execute the Nursing Program which has further widened the scope for producing professionals and skilled nurses.

Additional Information

The 10+2(plus2) education must be completed with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in each subject of science faculty (Physics, Chemistry, and, Biology).

OR

Complete Bachelor of Science Degree by a reputed university, in science faculty (Physics, Chemistry and, Biology) with minimum 50% marks on aggregate not less than 50% in each subject.

OR

Complete necessary course equal to I.Sc. (Biological group)with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, as the main subject after Certificate Level in Health Science from Dhulikhel Medical Institute, Kathmandu University, and having a minimum of 50% marks in total and not less than 50% of marks in every subject.

The various programs at Lumbini Medical College are as follows:

BSc Nursing

This PCL Nursing program of Lumbini Medical College targets to prepare the first level of a professional nursing human resource that could provide nursing care at community /institute level with their professional skills and way of behaving in class. Later they can take the leadership role in managing client/ patient care in the hospital as well as in the community settings. This program is of a three-year course. The objective of this program is to produce a middle-level nursing manpower to be capable of handling the function of preventive, primitive, curative and holistic care. The candidate must secure at least grade C in SEE/SLC examination form renowned academic institution and an average GPA of at least 2. An entrance examination will be held in which the candidate must secure 50% marks.

Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) of Lumbini Medical College is a five and a half year long Undergraduate course of Kathmandu University (KU) which included a one-year required internship. The degree awarded is Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, MBBS. The standards and judging requirements put into use in strict loyalty to the needed things of Nepal Medical Council and Kathmandu University (KU). Other ten Medical colleges offer MBBS program In Nepal in the affiliation of Kathmandu University (KU). The Kathmandu University (KU) MBBS program has been divided into three parts: the first two-years course consists of basic medical science and introduction of clinical science. And the next two and half year’s course students have to earn the principle and skills of clinical medicine in various medical specialties and the final year for internship.

PCL Nursing
