Nepalgunj Medical College (NGMC) was established in 1997 A.D. with an MBBS course. Later, the college added a nursing program in 2000 A.D. and a postgraduate program in 2007 A.D. “Excellence in Medical Education” is the motto of the institute since it has sufficient human resources, state-of-the-art facilities with the most modern and sophisticated equipment, and a team of well-qualified professionals in every department. Nepalgunj Medical College is among the recommendations of the Nepal Medical Council, the Medical Council of India, Sri Lanka, and the Medical Councils of SAARC and other countries. It is affiliated with and follows the prescribed curriculum of Kathmandu University. It has its own two well-equipped teaching hospitals in the two main cities of Banke district, with 830 beds in the teaching hospital at Kohalpur and 220 beds in the hospital at Nepalgunj.

After finishing their course at Nepalgunj Medical College, graduates have been known to be working and studying in Nepal, India, the USA, the UK, Australia, and various other nations. The institution is listed in the “World Directory of Medical Schools." Thus, the graduates of this institute can appear in USMILE and PLAB tests in the USA and UK. Many of the graduates have secured more than a 92% success rate in the MCI screening test and have been selected for PG and DNB.

Mission

Nepalgunj Medical College has played a vital role in the area of human resource development, hence contributing to national development.
