Bachelor of Social Work (Purbanchal University)

Bachelor of Social Work is introduced to produce knowledgeable and skilled professionals in the social work field. Social work degree provides students with knowledge that help to make a positive impact in the society, sense of purpose and an array of career options. The program covers a large range of theoretical concepts and practical skills necessary to practice social work. The curriculum of this program prepares grads to use a common helping process on various levels, ranging from individuals to communities.

Bachelor of Social Work offered by the Purbanchal University is a three years long academic degree, consisting of six semesters and 90 credit hours. Apart from classroom training, students are provided with field practicum, rural & urban camps, neighborhood camp and block field work. The syllabus covers various issues on human right, gender, child right and juvenile justice etc. in order to complete this program successfully, students should undertake subjects like Social work field practicum and skills lab, Academic English, Human Growth and Behavior, Social Case Work and Group Work, Sociology for Social Work, History and Philosophy of Social work, Introduction to Nepali Society, Psychiatric Social Work, Neighborhood camp, Community Organization, Social Action among others.

Kadambari Memorial College is the only college affiliated with Purbanchal University that is offering Bachelor of Social Work program in Nepal. Established in 2005, the institution is located in Shankhamul, Kathmandu.

Eligibility Criteria:

Students willing to pursue Bachelor of Social work should have completed +2 in any stream from the board/universities recognized by Purbanchal University. They should submit a copy of their academic certificates and accurately filled form while applying for the admission.
