Master in Regional Development Planning And Management (Purbanchal University)

Faculty of Humanities and Social Science in Purbhanchal University has started the master program in regional development planning and management for student who wants to learn more about the development strategies within various urban and rural communities.This program combines theories and strategies, implementation and monitoring tools with practice orientated study aiming to flourish the development plan and programs in different region.This course focuses on the development planning and its management in various cities, industrial area, transportation networks, farmlands and its uses etc.

The two years, semester-based program offered by the university combines both theory and practical lessons along with internships/workshops. The curriculum offered by the university includes courses in Decentralization and Governance, Rural and Regional Development, Community Development Planning and Regional Planning Techniques.


Objective

The major aim of this program is to produce a skilled manpower in the related field. Some of the specific objectives of this program are listed below:

  • To understand or identify development problems, trends, potentials, constraints and managing resource.
  • To implement different development strategies, objectives, plans and policies.
  • To create or conduct general plans and programs.
  • To enable students to function efficiently in a team.
  • To enhance student's critical thinking and decision-making skills.


Admission Requirements

In order to be eligible to apply for the Master in Regional Development Planning and Management Program, applicant must have completed his bachelor degree from an institution acceptable to Purbanchal University.
