The Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (BASLP) is a four-year program offered by the Institute of Medicine (IOM), Tribhuvan University. Audiology is a discipline within the field of medical science that focuses on the study of hearing (earshot), balance, and associated illnesses using advanced tools and techniques. Speech language pathology, on the other hand, is a scientific discipline that involves the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, communication, reasoning, public communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults. The BASLP program was introduced with the aim of training audiologists and speech pathologists within the country to provide treatment for individuals with audio and speech disorders. Fee Structure: For subsidized students, the fee for the BASLP program at IOM is NRs. 2,34,365. For full-paying students, the fee is NRs. 6,01,030.
The objectives of the Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology program for the students at Tribhuvan University are as follows:
Admission Criteria:
1. Students need to appear in the entrance exam conducted by IOM.
2. The examination carries a total of 100 marks.
3. The marks for the examination are distributed as follows:

After the completion of the entrance test, a merit list is published based solely on the performance in the exam. The marks obtained in the intermediate level (or equivalent) will not impact the merit list published for this program.
Eligibility:
Students can be eligible for the BASLP program under TU:
By completing their +2 education in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects from a recognized institution and attaining a minimum of 50% or a GPA of 2.4 in total.
Or
Alternatively, students with an A-level qualification or an equivalent grading system can qualify if they study Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects and achieve a minimum of 50% or a GPA of 2.4 in total, or an equivalent score.
Or
For health science-related qualifications or diplomas (such as General Medicine, Medical Laboratory Technology, Ophthalmic Science, Dental Science, Pharmacy, Radiography, Ayurveda, Physiotherapy), meeting the following criteria is essential: obtaining a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects, achieving a minimum of 50% or a GPA of 2.4 from the National Examination Board in Class 12 Science Group or its equivalent, and being registered with the relevant council.
