Bachelor of Business Management | TU

Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) is a newly introduced program by the Faculty of Management at Tribhuvan University. Similar to the BBA program, BBM is a four-year program consisting of eight semesters and totaling 120 credit hours. This program is designed to serve as a foundation for aspiring business leaders and qualified managers of the future.

BBM course graduates are equipped with effective knowledge, abilities, self-confidence, and skills necessary to contribute to successful and efficient information management. They are prepared to adapt to the highly dynamic, competitive, and volatile world of business.

Objectives of Bachelor of Business Management

The Bachelor of Business Management or BBM course was designed by Tribhuvan University to fulfill the following objectives:

  • Skill development: Enhance students' skills in various areas such as creative thinking, decision making, leadership, and communication. Increase their understanding of business operations and adaptability to change.
  • Entrepreneurial and innovative capabilities: Foster students' entrepreneurial mindset and cultivate their innovative capabilities. Enable them to successfully manage business operations in today's dynamic world.
  • Professional preparation: Prepare students for professional life by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to work as business managers and entrepreneurs. Instill a strong awareness of work ethics and morals.
  • Further studies: Assist and motivate students to pursue advanced studies in the field of business management, encouraging lifelong learning and continuous professional development.

Admission Requirements in Bachelor of Business Management

Entrance Exam:

For admission to the BBM course at Tribhuvan University or its affiliated academies, students need to fill out the application form, providing detailed personal information and past academic records.

The candidate selection process consists of three phases:

1. Written Exam (CMAT Test):

   The Central Management Admission Test (CMAT) is conducted by the Faculty of Management (FOM). It assesses students' verbal ability, quantitative techniques, logical reasoning, and general awareness. The format of the test is similar to the SAT exam.

2. Individual Presentation:

   Each candidate is required to give an individual presentation as part of the selection process.

3. Interview:

   An interview is conducted by the concerned college to further evaluate the candidates.

After completing all the examinations, a merit list is published based on the following criteria:

  • 60% of the total marks obtained in the CMAT exam
  • 30% of the total marks obtained in the +2 or equivalent level
  • 10% for the individual presentation and interview

Admissions are granted to students according to the merit list.

Eligibility

Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements to apply for the TU BBM course:

  • Completion of +2 or any equivalent level of education from a board, institution, or university recognized by Tribhuvan University (TU).
  • Attainment of at least a second division in the proficiency or intermediate level.
  • Fulfillment of all the application form requirements for appearing in the entrance examination.

Fee Structure

The BBM fee structure ranges from NPR 4,00,000 to 6,00,000 on average. The fees may differ from each college and some may be higher than the average.
