The Master of Science in Biotechnology offers cutting-edge expertise in a variety of courses that incorporates business, law, and science. The program is introduced to provide students with rigorous learning on the subject of molecular biotechnology and traditional biotechnology.

The two-year MSc in Biotechnology program offered by the Tribhuvan University (TU) is a multidisciplinary program that includes the study of a wide range of subjects such as Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, and immunology, Virology, Genetics and Biochemistry. The discipline creates the well-rounded learning experience that furnishes students with a comprehensive outlook of product development & delivery. The program is divided into four semesters, each of sixteen weeks. In order to complete the program successfully, students should undertake sixty-four hours of full-time study.

Objectives of MSc Biotechnology

Admission Requirements in MSc Biotechnology

Students interested in pursuing the M.Sc. in Biotechnology program should have Bachelor degree in Science with biological science and chemistry and a bachelor degree in Biochemistry, Agricultural Science, Biotechnology, Medical Lab, Medicine, Medical Lab Technology, Environmental Science (with Biological science and Chemistry) and Food Technology. Applicants must have to secure minimum of fifty percent marks. Applicants who fulfill these criteria are allowed to sit in the entrance exam.

Selection Procedures:

Selection is made on the basis of candidates' past academic achievements and entrance test score.
