Bachelor of Information Technology | TU

The Bachelor of Information Technology program or BIT course under Tribhuvan University (TU) covers studies of all aspects of IT. However, it focuses on application development, web multimedia resources, systems, planning and administration of technology life cycles, installation and management of networks, and information security.

The TU BIT course provides students with the modern knowledge, competence, and experience needed for a thriving career as an IT professional capable of managing data processing, technological transformations, and digital expertise in all areas of the community.

The four-year BIT course, conducted by TU, consists of core and advanced units. The core module covers the fundamentals of IT, equipping pupils with skills and knowledge in communication, computer networks, system design, and programming.

The advanced units allow candidates to evolve, practice, and implement their skills and knowledge in the fields of the internet, mobile industry, the World Wide Web (WWW), and communication technology.

Objectives of Bachelor of Information Technology

Admission Requirements in Bachelor of Information Technology

Students interested in pursuing a TU BIT course in Nepal should have completed the 10+2 or Intermediate level in any stream. They should have secured a minimum of a second division in Plus 2 or its equivalent, or at least a C grade or 1.6 GPA and a final CGPA of 1.8 and above in classes 11 and 12, with English and Maths carrying 100 marks each.

Scholars who have passed A levels in all streams with D grades in English and Mathematics are also eligible. Additionally, those who have completed a three-year BIT course with a Diploma in Engineering from CTEVT, with English and Maths as subjects, are eligible as well.

Candidates who have failed in a maximum of two subjects in the 12th grade or similar exams and have filled the exam application form for grade improvement are allowed to fill Bachelor of Information Technology entrance application forms.
