Video Editor are those professionals who work for video editing at Film Companies or Commercial or Advertising companies. The raw footage of complete shooting are handed to video editor and they have

to put the clips of the shoot together based on the cohesive narration from the director. They work with other pre-production teams such as Cinematographer, sound recorder to bring together the complete edited clip from the footage and make into a story required by the film or commercial programs.

The duties of a video editor are

Collect raw footage and combine into a cohesive story
Make sure their work meet with narratives of director or the producer of the film
Use editing software tools and techniques to put the pieces together in one thread
Make sure the edited portions appear seamless and natural with the flow of the story
Create sound effects to make it appear more live
Discuss about project narrative details with the director and producer
Make sure their work have an impact with the general audience
Work according to budget specifications
