BCA entrance examinations are conducted by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of TU. The standard format of entrance examination is based on English carrying 40 marks, Mathematics 50 marks and General Knowledge of 10 marks based on the objective type questions. The duration of the exams is two hours. Students completing Plus 2 or PCL with CGPA 2.0 with D+ in all subjects or 45 percentage marks in aggregate from any discipline are eligible to apply for the BCA entrance exam.

After passing the BCA entrance exam conducted by TU, students will be eligible to study in any BCA College affiliated to TU. However, there are few Colleges who receive a high volume of BCA applications, in those cases private Colleges may conduct separate BCA entrance exams to select the students.
In Pokhara University the entry requirement for new students in BCA must have second division 45 percent marks with majors in Mathematics or Computer Science in higher secondary level or PCL or equivalent board recognized by Pokhara University. The entrance exam questions have English, Mathematics and General Knowledge. Besides, applicants will be screened also on the weightage of intermediate marks 10 percent, interview 10 percent and written test 80 percent.
For studying BCA program of Purbanchal University candidates must pass plus 2 or equivalent securing 45 percent marks at least in either Science, Management, Humanities, Education, CTEVT, Diploma/PCL can apply. Written test on English, Mathematics and Computer Science carrying 100 marks is held by Purbanchal University for their BCA entrance exam.
