What is BBA?

BBA, which stands for Bachelor of Business Administration, is a management course designed to be completed in 4 years, following a semester format. It is one of the most popular undergraduate degrees pursued by students who aspire to build a career in various management sectors such as banking, finance, marketing, accounting, sales, etc.

BBA course under different universities

Today, the BBA course is offered by more than 130 colleges all over Nepal. The BBA course was first introduced in Nepal in the year 1997 AD by Kathmandu University. Since then there are several management degrees offered by national universities such as TU, KU, PU, and Pokhara Universities, as well as foreign universities through affiliated colleges in Nepal. However, BBA still remains the first choice among students who want to join a business or management degree.

The syllabus of the BBA course in Nepal includes both theoretical and practical study in the various aspects of business and management. The examination conducted under this program includes both a theory and a practical examination.

Scholarships

Students enrolled in the BCA course may also qualify for scholarships, which are awarded based on merit.

Eligibility for BCA
University Scholarships
Tribhuvan University Colleges affiliated with TU must offer scholarships to two deserving students who completed SLC via community schools, based on CMAT scores—up to a 50% tuition fee waiver.
KU  KU awards scholarships to meritorious and needy students upon admission. For every 30 fee-paying students, one student can receive a full or partial scholarship, initially based on need and annually maintained by keeping a GPA of at least 3.0.
Pokhara University Pokhara University allocates 10% of seats in affiliated colleges and 20% in constituent schools for scholarships; of these scholarships, 60% are open merit-based competitions and 40% reserved quotas; around 50% of seats are reserved for female candidates.
Purbanchal University The Faculty of Management offers scholarships for BBA and related programs. For admission in 2081-82 (BS), PU scheduled application and exam dates around August–September 2024.

  • Must have secured a D+ in each subject at the intermediate level.

Kathmandu

  • Must have completed the +2 level or equivalent from any stream with a minimum CGPA of 1.6 or more.

Pokhara

  • Must have completed the +2 level or equivalent in any discipline with an overall CGPA of 1.8 or more.
  • Must have secured a D in each subject at the intermediate level.

Purbanchal

  • Must have completed +2 from a science or management stream.

International

  • Must have completed the +2 level with a second division or equivalent from any relevant stream.
