Communication and Technology have become an inevitable part of our life. We can access the world with just the tip of our finger. People are using technology in their business in their own way to reach the market and consumers. New technologies are emerging at such a fast pace that people might not be aware of the technologies and its facilities available to them. CAN Infotech has played a key role in bringing people and evolving technology in the same page.
CAN Infotech has always been the talk of the town. It is an annual trade show which offers an opportunity to share and explore knowledge of products, services, technologies and different ICT industries. National and International companies, students of IT and engineering field, ISP, etc find it a platform for product promotion.
The 23rd CAN Infotech Nepal, sponsored by Subisu took place from 26th-31st January 2017 at Bhrikuti Mandap, Exhibition Road, Kathmandu. The 6 days extended fair was full of latest technologies, creative ideas, amazing services, and much more.
Various IT training institutes were seen explaining the importance and benefits of IT, its scope inside and outside Nepal, its need for the betterment of humankind, and the career prospects of IT to the enthusiast students. Many +2 students were seen interested in learning about the institute and its facilities. The huge crowd around the stall indicated that the training institutes did a good business.
Like previous years, ISPs were also there. Many ISPs were busy dragging customers but this time World link didn’t show up. There was a tight competition among the ISPs in providing high bandwidth internet in cheapest price. This might be the reason behind the crowd in the stalls of ISPs. Students were also seen booking internet connection as the ISPs were offering various alluring schemes to the students. Overall, they seem to have done a really good business.
Though many engineering and IT students have been inventing and developing new gadgets, machines, and software, they haven’t got exposure and platform to showcase their creation. CAN Infotech was a perfect platform for them to illustrate their creation. In this reference, a group of students from Pashchimanchal Campus was there showcasing a solar-hybrid car that runs from the battery; that can be charged from the solar panel as well as electricity. They manufactured the sample car on their own investment which was one of the highlights of the fair. The popular actor/comedians of Nepal, Mr. Deepak Raj Giri, and Ms. Deepa Neupane were also present at CAN Infotech 2017. They took a small ride on the solar-hybrid car.
Many stalls were selling electronic devices and appliances such as laptop, pen drive, memory card, heater, mobile phone, camera, television, music system, headphones etc. Students were seen actively participating in fun games and quizzes. They seemed happy getting gifts and rewards.
CAN Federation has conducted CAN Infotech event not only in Kathmandu but also in different places of Nepal such as Jhapa, Kailali, Hetauda, etc. With the aim to provide technology-related knowledge and services to the people residing in remote areas, who won’t be able to attend the event in Kathmandu, CAN Federation has been conducting CAN Infotech event since past decade. We came to know that in coming days, CAN Federation will be conducting CAN Infotech in Rupandehi, Kaski, and many other places.
