Overview
Kathmandu University, School of Medical Sciences, offers a Bachelor of Nursing Science program to develop competent nurses from evidence-based scientific knowledge with a broad set of skill sets in the field of nursing. This program is of four years duration. This program will develop the skills to teach and research in health care settings and take on leadership roles in the nursing profession. It also develops critical thinking, case management, health promotion, and practice in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Objectives
The objective of Bachelor of Nursing Science program are:
- Communicate effectively in health setting environment with clients, colleagues and health team members
- provide quality nursing care dealing with individual, family, group and community
- apply nursing, bio medical and behavorial science in health care to family, individual, group and community
- initiate self directed and life long learning from nursing profession
- Demonstrate leadership, guide and supervise auxilliary team members
Admission Requirements
Minimum 50 percent marks overall or 2.4 CGPA in Plus2 or equivalent qualification with C+ Chemistry, Physics, Biology separately and minimum C in other subjects.
Eligibility
Kathmandu University Bachelor of Nursing Science entrance exam will be conducted by Medical Education Commission of Nepal and selection will be done on MEC guidelines. There will be personal interview, entrance test and academic performance of Plus2 evaluation for the selections.
