Objectives

The principal aims of Kathmandu University's Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) program are as follows:

  • To cultivate and produce skilled healthcare practitioners domestically.
  • To address the growing need for competent physiotherapy services.
  • To prioritize patient-centric care and the enhancement of overall health and wellness.

Admission Requirements

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for admission, you need to meet certain academic requirements in your secondary education or its equivalent:

  • You must have achieved a minimum of 50% or a GPA/Course Grade Point Average of 2.4 in your Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects from a recognized educational institution.
  • Alternatively, if your academic program follows the A-level or a similar grading system, you should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects and obtained a minimum of 50% or a GPA/Course Grade Point Average of 2.4 to pass
  • If you are pursuing qualifications in health sciences, like Ayurveda, Medical Laboratory Technology, Radiography, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, or Ophthalmic Science, you must have a minimum passing mark of 50% in relevant subjects. This requirement applies to programs such as BAMS (PCL in Ayurveda), BSc MLT (Diploma in Health Lab), BSc MIT (Diploma in Radiography), BPT (Diploma in Physiotherapy), B Pharm (Diploma in Pharmacy), and B Optometry (Diploma in Ophthalmic Science). You should also be registered with the relevant council.
  • For Health Science-related proficiency certificate level or diploma programs in General Medicine, Medical Lab Technology, Ophthalmic Science, Dental Science, Pharmacy, Radiography, Ayurveda, or Physiotherapy, you must have passed with a minimum aggregate score of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Additionally, you should be registered with the respective council.

Admission Procedure:

Candidates who have been accepted for admission must provide the following original documents along with photocopies to the respective educational institution during the admission process:

  • Certificate showing that you meet the qualifications, along with transcripts and a character certificate from your 10+2 education or its equivalent.
  • A copy of your citizenship or passport.
  • The admit card from the Entrance Examination.
  • Any documents you submitted for reservation purposes.
  • If you have certificates from foreign institutions, you'll need to provide a certificate of equivalence to show that they are equivalent to the required qualifications.

Fee Structure

The average fee for a program in Bachelor of Physiotherapy typically ranges from NPR 600,000 – NPR 800,000, though the exact cost may vary depending on the colleges.
