Bachelor of Science in Nursing | KU

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a four-year program offered by Kathmandu University. Its aim is to prepare nurses for the multidisciplinary health fields. Graduates of this program are equipped to work collaboratively as healthcare professionals in various types of organizations. They are trained to actively participate in nursing care for individuals, families, and government initiatives. As team leaders, they can effectively plan nursing care and demonstrate teaching skills in both formal and informal settings.

Objectives of Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The main objective of BSc Nursing program are as follows:

  • Identify the learning needs of staff, students, clients, families, and the community.
  • Demonstrate teaching skills in formal and informal settings, provide guidance and support, and engage in research activities for the development of the nursing profession.

Admission Requirements in Bachelor of Science in Nursing

To be eligible for the Bachelor of Nursing program at KU, a minimum of 50 percent marks must be obtained. The evaluation of the nursing entrance exam includes negative marking of -0.25 for each wrong answer. The required documents for application are transcripts, a character certificate from Plus 2/SEE, a copy of your citizenship, passport, and admit card. Eligibility criteria include a Certificate or Diploma in Health Science in general medicine, medical lab technology, or ophthalmic science, as well as A levels with subjects in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
