Overview

Kathmandu University offers four years Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Engineering. This program is offered by the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering. This program provides knowledge of developing and applying environment-friendly technologies to mitigate environmental problems and engineering methods. It combines knowledge and skills of basic science, engineering, applied science, socio-economic, legal, soil science, and forest environment. It provides knowledge of key areas of faecal sludge management, hazardous waste engineering, watershed management, hydropower engineering, solid waste engineering, environmental research methods, water supply, wastewater and sanitary engineering and air and noise pollution control studies comprehensively.

Objectives

Upon completion of the  BTech Environmental Engineering program, graduates are expected to exhibit the following:

  • An understanding of the various effects of engineering technology and its solutions in a global context.
  • The capability to work efficiently as a leader or member of a technical team.
  • The capability to recognize, analyze, and resolve engineering technology-related issues.
  • The ability to adapt to changing technologies and continue learning.
  • The capability to select and apply skills, knowledge, modern tools, and techniques to engineering technology activities.
  • The ability to fulfill ethical and professional responsibilities.

Admission Requirements

Eligibility Criteria for admission:

  1. Applicants must have passed the intermediate level.
  2. Applicants must have secured a minimum of 50% marks and completed Higher Secondary Level Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.
  3. Applicants are required to take the entrance exam followed by a personal interview with a representative of the college administration.
