Nepal Mountain Academy

Nepal Mountain Academy at Thapagaun, Bijulibazaar Kathmandu, was established in 2002 under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation. It is affiliated with FOM and Tribhuvan University. It provides courses of study in mountaineering, mountaineering science, and adventure tourism that promote coordination and conduct academic activities.

Academic programs at Nepal Mountain Academy:

Bachelor of Mountaineering Studies:

Four-year undergraduate program of management studies, social science, pure sciences, related tourism, and developing subject-specific core competencies to work as a professional, vocational, and entrepreneurial.

Master of Adventure Tourism Studies:

Two years, four semesters, and 73 credits. It imparts professional skills and knowledge in adventure, mountain, and climbing tourism, innovation, and sustainability in the tourism economy.

Master of Science in Mountain and Mountaineering Science:

It is a two-year, four-semester program to convey scientific research to address opportunities and challenges in climbing and mountain science. This program is aimed at serving the tourism sector through hiking and climbing. The total course of study is 64 credits.
