B.Sc. Biochemistry | Pokhara University

The Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry is designed to impart the knowledge and understanding of the Molecular Basis of life in animals and plants. The multidisciplinary program focuses on composition and function of molecules and their interplay to form the phenomenon of life. It mostly looks at the process of translating this interplay into basic energy transduction, metabolism, defense and physical reaction for purpose of development & growth.

Bachelor of Science in Bio-Chemistry program offered by the Pokhara University is a four-year course that is further divided into eight semesters. In order to complete this program successfully, students need to complete 145 credit hours of full-time study. The program intends to equip the students with the theoretical concept and practical training in the subjects such as Pure & Applied Field of Bio-chemistry with a solid foundation in Biotechnology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Clinical Micro-biology and Human Anatomy and Physiology.  Prior to graduation, students need to submit a thesis.

Objectives of B.Sc. Biochemistry

The major purpose of the Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry degree is to prepare graduates for technical and scientific roles in the sectors, such as biomedical research institutes. Upon completion of this program, students are expected to:

Admission Requirements in B.Sc. Biochemistry

Students with +2 level or ISC degree with first division marks in the Biological and Physical group are eligible to apply for the Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry program. Applicant should appear in an entrance test conducted by the university and should face the personal interview.
