BSc Biochemistry | PU (Pokhara)

The Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry is designed to impart knowledge and understanding of the molecular basis of life in animals and plants. The multidisciplinary program focuses on the composition and function of molecules and their interplay in forming the phenomenon of life. It primarily examines the processes involved in translating this interplay into basic energy transduction, metabolism, defense, and physical reactions for the purpose of development and growth.

The Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry program offered by Pokhara University is a four-year course divided into eight semesters. To successfully complete this program, students need to fulfill 145 credit hours of full-time study. The program aims to equip students with theoretical concepts and practical training in subjects such as the pure and applied fields of biochemistry, with a solid foundation in biotechnology, immunology, molecular biology, clinical microbiology, and human anatomy and physiology. Prior to graduation, students are required to submit a thesis.

Eligibility Criteria:

Students with a +2 level or ISC degree, with first division marks in the Biological and Physical group, are eligible to apply for the Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry program. Applicants should appear in an entrance test conducted by the university and participate in a personal interview.
