Overview

Purbanchal University offers a five-year, six-month Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery program. Homeopathy is an alternative field of medicine with no side effects. This program provides foundational knowledge of homeopathy principles, manufacturing, and treatment. It also promotes research and use of homeopathic treatments for various diseases. This program will provide homeopathic studies of different medicines, surgery, and various medical case-taking and management such as pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, community medicine, psychiatry, pathology, etc. This program will also give practical knowledge with hands-on training at clinics and hospitals in homeopathic treatment and private homeopathy practice, research in alternative medicine, and public health or wellness centers.

Objectives of Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery

The major objectives of this course are as follows:

• To produce skilled and trained health care professionals.
• To provide knowledge about Homeopathic medicines and about their manufacturing.
• Provide advance research in the field of Homeopathy so that they can contribute in the headway of the framework.
• Educate students about many critical and dangerous diseases and their effective homeopathic treatment.
• To aware the students about the benefits of using homeopathic treatment over allopathic treatment.

Admission Requirements in Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery

Admission Criteria

For the admission in this program, the candidate must have to pass an eligibility criteria which comprises of past academics, test and interview.

In general, the candidate must have to pass the higher secondary examinations board (HSEB) or from any board or institution recognized by Purbanchal University (P.U) with at least 50%. She/ he must be from science background with the major in Biology. Along with this, students should also pass an entrance examination conducted by Purbanchal University (P.U). Students awaiting FOR the 10+2 (HSEB) results can also sit in the entrance exam.

The candidates are short-listed on the basis of past academics and on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance test. Short-listed candidates will be called for an interview with the college representative. Admission will only be given on the basis of merit.

There are countless employment opportunities in the hospitals, in Insurance companies and in Clinics too. BHMS graduates can get a post of a lecturer in medical colleges and numerous paramedical institutes. One can also manufacture homeopathy medicines in Pharmaceutical industry. Many NGO and INGO companies are still seeking for highly qualified BHMS graduates.
