Overview

Purbanchal University offers four years eight semesters Bachelor of Travel and tourism Studies BTTS of 117 credit hours. This program provides knowledge and skills of tourism industry, communication, personality development, computer and foreign language skills to operate tourism business. It also provides sector wise knowledge from tourism public sector, travel agency/tour operations, adventure tourism, accommodation and catering, entertainment, airlines industry, cruise liner, surface transport and journalism of travel and tourism profession and mice tourism and hotel management in study areas. This program will provide skilled human resource for growth of tourism industry in Nepal. 

Objectives of Bachelor of Travel And Tourism Studies

The main aims of this discipline are mentioned below:

  • To provide students with comprehensive understanding of tourism industry through academic theory and practical training
  • To develop student's entrepreneurial skills
  • To enable students to pursue further education in MTTS degree
  • To enhance students' managerial skills required to meet the ever-changing needs of travel industries
  • To improve leadership quality of the students and encourage them to work in a team if needed

Admission Requirements in Bachelor of Travel And Tourism Studies

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must have to complete +2 in any stream from college/ board recognized by the Purbanchal University (PU).
  • Applicant should appear in entrance test conducted by the college/ university.

Required Documents

  • Eligible candidates must have to submit two passport size photographs not more than 3 months older.
  • Applicants must have to submit attested photocopies of academic certificates issued by college last attended.
  • Applicants must have to submit character certificate issued by school & colleges attended.
  • Applicants must have to submit properly filled and duly signed admission form.

Selection Procedures

  • Applicant must have to appear in entrance test conducted by the college/ university.
  • Candidates must have to give a personal interview.
  • The selection is made on the basis of applicant's academic performance. Entrance test score and performance on interview.

BTTS degree opens door for a number of jobs. Upon completion of this program, graduates can find employment opportunities in various fields related to the travel. Graduates have the option to work in both private and public sectors. They can serve in travel agencies, transport, cargo companies, tour companies, hotels, and restaurants. Moreover, they can run their own travel company.
