Overview

Purbanchal University Faculty of Medical Sciences offers a Master of Public Health program. This is an advanced-level program in public health that develops specialized public health human resources. It provides knowledge of public health programs, problems and issues, bio statistical knowledge, research skills, capacities for evaluating public health programs, promote international health issues and their implications, train problem solving techniques and have awareness of global health and international health, health financing and economics with evidence based learning and problem-solving approaches.

Objectives of Master of Public Health

The major objectives of MPH course are as follows: 
  • To provide guidance in health related education, service and research.
  • To intensify primary health care activities at rural and urban areas.
  • To cope the problems at different levels and mobilize the available resources.
  • To prepare health specialists.
  • To create an ability to comprehend existing and emerging health problems.
  • To create a better public service team.

Admission Requirements in Master of Public Health

The admission requirements for joining MPH degree are as follows:
  • In order to join MPH program in Purbanchal University (PU), Candidates must have to pass Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Public Health (BPH), BSC Nursing, Doctor of Medicine degree (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree (DO) and Post Basic Bachelor of Nursing (PBBN).
  • Candidates must have to obtain at least 2.00 CGPA or minimum 50 percent score in bachelor level course in order to be eligible for admission.
  • The last and final decision is taken by considering the performance of applicant in the admission test. Students are required to fill all the necessary information regarding their personal and academic qualification.
  • The application can be downloaded from www.purbanchaluniversity.edu.np.
  • The full application along with the transcripts should be submitted to office in the given time.
  • While submitting it, applicants must have to pay Rs. 2000 along with the it as a charge. To pay it, candidates should deposit Rs. 2000 in the Global IME Bank and the deposited voucher must be submitted along with application.
  • Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Doctor of Medicine degree (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree (DO) are given more priorities in this course.

Fee Structure

The average fee for a Master of Public Health program typically ranges between NPR 3,00,000 and NPR 4,00,000, though the exact cost may vary depending on the college or university.
