The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal is situated in ICAN Marga, Satdobato, Lalitpur. It was established under a special act of the Nepal Chartered Accountants Act in 1997. This institution has been able to address the importance of the accounting profession and the economic and social responsibility of accountants and contribute to the economic development of the country. This institute was established to play the role of ofthe regulatory body and carry out accountancy within the code of conduct to consolidate and carry out accounting for the nation's economic development.

Scholarships

ICAN offers a Chartered Accountant Scholarship award to talented and underprivileged students. It is awarded from the Chartered Accountant Scholarship Fund for students based on merit and need. The number of students for the scholarship is determined by the student and family’s financial situation.

Types of scholarships are:

• Full scholarship with complete waiver of application fees, registration, and examination fees payable to the institute
• Partial scholarship waiving 50 percent registration fee payable to the institution
