Objectives of Bachelor in Perfusion Technology
The B Perf Tech program aims to:
- Help students become skilled perfusion technologists who can manage heart and lung machines for patients during major heart, lung, and transplant surgeries.
- Give students a solid understanding of how the heart and lungs work and what goes wrong when they're not functioning properly.
- Teach students how to use and take care of the machines used during surgeries, like heart-lung machines.
- Improve students' problem-solving abilities and their capacity to work well with a surgical team.
- Get students ready to handle the challenges of working in a busy and high-pressure medical environment.
Admission Requirements in Bachelor in Perfusion Technology
Eligibility Criteria:
- To qualify, students must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in school and obtained at least 50% or a 2.4 CGPA/GPA from a recognized educational institution.
- Alternatively, students who have completed A-levels or a similar grading system can also be eligible. They should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and achieved a minimum of 50% or a 2.4 CGPA/GPA or its equivalent.
- For those pursuing health science-related qualifications or diplomas (such as General Medicine, Medical Laboratory Technology, Ophthalmic Science, Dental Science, Pharmacy, Radiography, Ayurveda, Physiotherapy), they need to score at least 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Additionally, they must have achieved a minimum of 50% or a 2.4 CGPA/GPA in their Class 12 Science Group exams or its equivalent. Being registered with the relevant council is also required.
Entrance Exam:
Candidates who wish to enroll themselves within the B Perfusion technology program need to pass the entrance exam conducted by the Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine (Tu IoM) and administered by Medical Education Commission (MEC).
