Objectives of Bachelor of Computer Engineering

Program Structure

Bachelor of computer engineering at TU is a four-year program taught on a semester-wise basis. There are a total of 8 semesters in this program. The first years of this program focus on strengthening pupils’ foundation of basic science. The second year of this program introduces students to the basic computer engineering subjects. From the third year of this program, students delve into the core concept of computer engineering. In the last year, learners developed their project management, communication, and leadership skills. The total credit hours of a BE in Computer at TU is about 160 hours. The credit hours in each semester are mentioned below:

Specializations

Students can choose elective subjects in Bachelor of Computer Engineering from the seventh semester. They can choose 1 elective subject in 7th semester and they can select 2 subjects as electives in the eighth semester. Pupils should council with their academic advisor while choosing elective subjects. Admission Requirements

Students must graduate their +2 from the physical group of science faculty or equivalent level education to get admission to the BE computer at TU. They need to pass each subject and score a minimum of C grade in each subject individually. While getting admission they are required to present (theory+practical). They are required to present their transcript, certificate from their respective board, and school leaving certificate at the time of admission. Students must pass the entrance exam conducted by IOE and be within the merit list to get admission to BE Computer Engineering at TU. The candidates with high ranks are given major priority.
Entrance Exam

Institute of Engineering of TU, organizes computer-based entrance examinations to choose suitable candidates for studying the BE computer program in TU. This exam consists of a total of 100 questions. Among 100 questions, 60 questions have the weightage of one mark each and 40 questions have the weightage of two marks each. The total marks of this entrance exam is 140. Each wrong answer will result in the deduction of 10% of its marks weightage. If a question has a weightage of 1 mark and you get it wrong, then 0.1 marks will be subtracted from your total score. These questions are asked from the curriculum of physics, mathematics, chemistry, and English of +2 level. Students must fulfill the following criteria to apply for this entrance examination:

  • Students must complete their +2 from science faculty or equivalent with the curriculum of physics, mathematics, and chemistry from an educational board recognized by TU.
  • +2 or Diploma students who are waiting for their 12th or final semester’s result can also apply for this entrance examination.

The Bachelor in Computer Engineering at Tribhuwan University is a high-level educational program that has international recognition. After graduating with a BE in Computer at TU, pupils have to pass the engineering license exam conducted by the Nepal Engineering Council.
