Bachelor of Public Health | TU

Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) is a four-year program offered by the Institute of Medicine (IOM), Tribhuvan University. It follows a yearly program structure, and examinations are conducted at the end of each academic year. The main objective of this program is to train specialists in healthcare within the country. Upon completion of the program, scholars are expected to possess the skills necessary to provide leadership to the community and mid-level health workers.

The major objectives of Bachelor of Public Health program are asfollows:
  • BPH program aims to produce undergraduates having leadership capacity within public health domain and promote its importance in community level.
  • The program aims to produce successful undergraduates who are confident and have skills to collaborate with the multi-disciplinary teams for planning, implementing and evaluating health care program of government.
  • BPH program aims to develop passion so that they can continue in lifelong learning, professional development, intellectual inquiry and research work in the given field.
  • The project aims to produce students capable of passing in professional licensure exam and work in accordance to the rules and regulation by understanding the societal and pubic responsibility.

Admission Requirements in Bachelor of Public Health

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible:

You must have successfully cleared the 12th grade or its equivalent education in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from an accredited institution, achieving a minimum of 50% or a CGPA/GPA of 2.4.

Or

In programs utilizing alternative grading systems, if you have pursued Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and have attained at least 50% or a CGPA/GPA of 2.4, and are at a similar academic level, you may also be eligible.

Or

If you hold a diploma or degree in any health-related field such as General Medicine, Medical Laboratory Technology, Ophthalmic Science, Dental Science, Pharmacy, Nursing, Radiography, Ayurveda, or Physiotherapy, and have achieved a minimum of 50% overall, along with being registered with the appropriate council, you may also be considered.

Admission Requirement:

  • He/ She should appear and pass entrance exam.
  • The merit list is published after that exam.
  • The merit list is solely based on that exam.
