Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Statistics is a four-year program of Tribhuvan University. This program provides skills and knowledge of understanding, analyzing, and interpreting data. It is heavily based on mathematical foundations and provides the overall knowledge of probability, regression analysis, experimental design, and statistical inference. It also includes the knowledge of computing-based skills, including R programming, Python, and SPSS for analyzing data. 

The Bachelor of Science Statistics program allows one to develop critical thinking and analytical skills, make decisions from data, and use tools to collect, analyze, and present them effectively. 

Objectives of BSc Statistics

The main objective of Bsc Statistics are:

  • Be able to analyze and interpret quantitative data
  • Apply correlation and regression techniques
  • Use statistical software for data analysis
  • Design sampling and survey techniques
  • Develop data-based decision-making 

Admission Requirements in BSc Statistics

Must have passed Plus2 with a minimum C grade in all subjects with full marks in Mathematics and appear for an entrance exam of two hours from the Institute of Science and Technology Dean's office.
