Overview

Tribhuvan University offers a two-year Master of Arts in Conflict, Peace, and Development Studies. This program draws academic knowledge from the fields of social science, humanities, environmental science, and philosophy. This program allows to understand the sociocultural dimension of conflict and peace; it delves into power, politics, violence, and management for human and national security and provide solutions with resolution approaches
in the period of grief and crisis.

Objectives

  • To understand dimensions of contemporary conflicts and impact on peace and development
  • To develop critical thinking and analytical skills
  • To apply techniques of negotiation, peace building, and conflict resolution
  • To develop research and practical skills with report writing, thesis, and fieldwork
  • To integrate the ideas and principles for conflict resolution from other sources like sociology, international relations, and political science.

Admission Requirements in MA in Conflict, Peace and Development Studies

Must appear and pass the admission test, which is announced once a year by Tribhuvan University, and obtain a minimum qualifying score.

Must have a bachelor's degree in any faculty with second division marks of Tribhuvan University
