Overview

Tribhuvan University Central Department of Biotechnology offers a Master of Science in Biotechnology program. This program has been designed to prepare high-level manpower in the field of biotechnology. This program will provide knowledge and skills to create new technologies and products from molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, genetic engineering, bioprocess engineering, immunology, bioinformatics, plant and animal tissue culture, and research methodology. The study of Master of Science Biotechnology will apply to the fields of health care, environmental science, industrial processes, and agriculture. It allows the development of scientific knowledge and innovative ideas, leading to the upliftment of the economy in the nation.

Objectives of MSc Biotechnology

The MSc in Biotechnology program aspires to produce skilled graduates for dynamic and satisfying careers in the field of biotechnology and associated professions by offering combined coursework, robust laboratory research, and training in contemporary industry practices. Some of the specific objectives of this program are listed below:

Admission Requirements in MSc Biotechnology

Students interested in pursuing the M.Sc. in Biotechnology program should have Bachelor degree in Science with biological science and chemistry and a bachelor degree in Biochemistry, Agricultural Science, Biotechnology, Medical Lab, Medicine, Medical Lab Technology, Environmental Science (with Biological science and Chemistry) and Food Technology. Applicants must have to secure minimum of fifty percent marks. Applicants who fulfill these criteria are allowed to sit in the entrance exam.

Selection Procedures:

Selection is made on the basis of candidates' past academic achievements and entrance test score.

Total cost: Rs 300000 to Rs 500000
Tuition fees: Rs 17000.
