Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) was originally established in 1993 as the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT). After 11 years, in 2004, the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology was renamed Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation. APU is an authorized educational institute approved by the Ministry of Higher Education under the Private Higher Education Act 1996. Situated at Technology Park Malaysia (TPM), Kuala Lumpur, APU is rated as the number one Top Private University in Asia for Multicultural Learning Experience. To prepare specialized graduates for business and society, APU blends innovation, creativity, and technology through an intellectual approach. The academic courses conducted at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) are endorsed by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Malaysia, and the credentials are accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). The degrees provided by APU are globally recognized and meet international quality standards. In March 2011, APU received the esteemed Industry Excellence Award from Dato’ Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak, the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Among over 30 award recipients in 8 different categories, only APIIT was selected for the Prime Minister's Industry Excellence Award. APU has also been honored with the Export Excellence Award. Over the years, APU has received more than 100 awards at regional, local, and international levels.
Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) offers more than 14 types of scholarship opportunities for Malaysian students. APU also offers merit scholarships for both Malaysian and international students, rewarding students with excellent results at O-Levels, A-Levels, SPM, STPM, Bachelor's Degree, or International Baccalaureate (IB). Merit scholarships are available for pre-Undergraduate, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate courses as well.
Furthermore, APU provides the Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS). The Malaysian Government offers MIS scholarship to provide opportunity to best minds around the world for advanced educational degrees.
This scheme aims to fulfill the Malaysian Government's efforts to attract, inspire, and gather talented individuals from abroad. Exceptional international applicants with outstanding academic backgrounds and co-curricular experiences are eligible to apply for this scheme. Successful candidates can pursue their studies in selected and reputable Malaysian private and public universities. However, the MIS scholarship scheme is only applicable for Masters and PhD level courses.
Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) is situated in a high-technology park environment and is well-equipped to facilitate maximum learning for its students. The Teaching & Learning Facilities at APU consist of well-equipped auditoriums, classrooms, the APU Cybersecurity Talent Zone, library, engineering labs, IT labs, green screen studio, design & drawing studio, advertising studio, animation & VFX studio, industrial design workshops, computer games development studio, and APU XR Studio.
Other facilities include a cafeteria, Centre Point & Atrium, health support services, sports & recreational facilities, Sweat Zone, resident lounge, convenience store, syndicate room/discussion room, indoor car park, outdoor car park, printing room, and book store.
