BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences

This is a five and half year’s program with one year of compulsory residential rotation internship. It aims to develop understanding of modern dentistry and in-depth function of the human body. It will help to identify common dental problems, educate others on oral health and hygiene, provide dental health care working as teams and perform tooth extractions, dental implants, tissue grafts, oral and maxillofacial surgery, gum grafts, dental bone grafts theoretical and practical knowledge and procedures during the studies of this program of BP Koirala Institute of health Science.

This is a four year Nursing science program of BP Koirala Institute of Health Science. It covers nursing studies from the aspects of social science, behavioral science, medical science with clinical experiences and practices along with theoretical knowledge. The topics covered are nursing theory, anatomy, biology, nutrition, psychology, medical ethics and skills of clinical practice, critical thinking and communication, and leadership and management skills also.

It is a three year program of BP Koirala Institute of Health Science. It provides advanced knowledge, practice and techniques in conservative dentistry areas such as radiology, pathology, prosthodontics, maxillofacial surgery, dentofacial orthopedics, periodontology and oral implantology. The course also provides knowledge from topics of Nepal Medical Council regarding medical ethics, rationale use of drugs, communication skills, infection prevention and medical skills in dental practices.

This is a four year program of BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences recognized by Nepal Nursing Council. This program provides knowledge and skills to produce competent midwives and provides services to mother and new born baby during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period. The study areas are anatomy and physiology, obstetric and gynecological nursing, midwifery, community health nursing, and skills related to the concepts of midwifery during the period of studies.

This is a four year program of BP Koirala Institute of Health Science. It provides broad knowledge and skills of radiography techniques, such as digital imaging, CT scan, MRI scan, X ray. This allows diagnosing diseases and its processes. It provides training for dealing patients with proper care of the radiodiagnosis department and gives advanced updates in radiology and new medical imaging techniques. 

It is a four year program of BP Koirala Institute of Health Science that aims to produce competent lab professionals. It provides knowledge and skills to produce medical technologists who perform lab testing and reporting the diagnosis by interpretation, monitoring treatment and screening health of patients, perform a total quality management system of health care services and manage clinical and research labs nationwide.

It is a three year program of BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. It provides training in medical diagnosis and treatment of disease of abnormalities of heart, blood pressure, circulatory system. Cardiologists can identify heart failure, valve disorders, pacemaker heart disease, congenital heart disease and chest pain and provide medication and remedies. 

BP Koirala Institute of Health Science offers three years of Doctor of Medicine in Neonatology. It is a branch of medicine that takes care after newborn babies with high risk and complicated health conditions. The branch of studies are delved into respiratory and digestive systems, premature labor, lack of oxygen. For this the requirement is three month residency training in general pediatrics. 

It is a three year program of BPKIHS. It provides knowledge, skills and research in areas of applied basic medical science, general medicine and nutrition, principles of critical care oxygen therapy, hospital acquired infection, transfusion, drugs, sedation and analgesia, trauma, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology, hepatology, neurology, nephrology, oncology and pulmonology. The skills for medical examinations such as research, communication, medico logical issues and good medical practices are also learnt in this comprehensive DM program of patient care and assessment.

It is a two years four semesters program of BPKIHS. It provides knowledge and academic public health training in public health. It provides knowledge and skills of public health theory, can diagnose and investigate health problems, empower people of health issues, develop policy and plan supporting individual and community health efforts, evaluate quality and effectiveness of services from personnel. The Master of Public Health program also shed light on family health, global health, public health administration and management, health system management, project planning, health economics and financing in detail study. 

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery is a four and half year’s program of BP Koirala Institute of Health Science. It is a medical degree which encompasses a wider range of medical studies from pre-Clinical, para-Clinical and Clinical phases. This program provides qualifications to produce caring, competent Doctors. It is a four and half year’s duration with one year of compulsory rotating internship. From MBBS the graduates are able to diagnose various diseases and cure them, manage medical emergencies which are life threatening, perform clinical examinations, manage promotive and rehabilitative health services, conduct research and surgeons.

It is a three year program from BP Koirala Institute of Health Science. It provides study of biomedical abnormalities in human disease. They test medical samples and interpret results for medical staff, students learn the skills of analyzing specimens in blood, urine or tissues using computer aided and automated testing procedures, and understand bio chemical changes within the human body.

BP Koirala Institute of Health Science offers a three years Master of Science in Human Anatomy program. It provides in-depth knowledge of anatomical regions and organs of the human body such as human blood, cardiovascular system, human digestive system, endocrine, renal system, skin, muscles system, nervous system, reproductive system, respiration, human sensory reception and human skeletal system. It provides the knowledge from anatomy, to pursue a career in the health-related industry.

Master of Science in Medical Microbiology is a two year program of BP Koirala Institute of Health Science. It provides broad and in-depth knowledge of microorganisms’ study capable of infecting and causing human disease. The study allows in identifications of pathogens and suggest treatment options, preventing or controlling epidemics, studying pathogenic species whether their properties can develop antibiotic or treatment methods. It has two branches: public health microbiology and clinical microbiology.
