Pokhara Academy of Health Science is a Western regional hospital in Pokhara Metropolitan City. It was launched in the year 2012 B.S. as Soldier's Board Hospital and is now a fully-fledged hospital with 24/7 emergency services. It offers expert consultations, intensive care, surgery units, specialized interventions, hematology care, an Outpatient Department, and a Wellness Centre. Pokhara Academy of Health Science also offers academic programs in the field of medical science. It conducts the Medical Education Common Entrance Exam for postgraduate programs.

The programs offered by Pokhara Academy are as follows:

  • MD Anaesthesiology: This program is designed to prepare anesthesiologists, and the curriculum integrates clinical and basic medical sciences. It is a three-year master's program that requires completion of MBBS or an equivalent degree from a government-recognized institution in Nepal. The entrance exam conducted by Pokhara Academy of Health Science is a three-hour exam consisting of multiple-choice questions.
  • MS in General Surgery: This is also a three-year program at PAHS. It has two divisions in the curriculum - clinical and basic medical sciences. The objective of this program is to produce general surgeons. The program requires an MBBS or equivalent degree recognized by the Nepal Government, and candidates must be registered with the Nepal Medical Council. They should score above 80 percent marks in the entrance exam conducted by Pokhara Academy of Health Science. The total cost of the program is Rs 2,299,000.
  • MD in Pediatrics: This is a three-year postgraduate program in Pediatrics at PAHS, aimed at producing pediatricians. The eligibility criteria include an MBBS or equivalent degree from institutions recognized by the Board of Nepal and one year of experience in basic medical sciences. Applicants must be registered with the Nepal Medical Council (NMC).
  • MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology: This is a three-year academic program offered by Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences. The aim of this program is to produce specialists in obstetrics, gynecology, and family planning to reduce perinatal morbidity and mortality.
  • MS in Orthopedics: This is also a three-year master's program aimed at producing orthopedic surgeons for the treatment and therapy of bones and joints. The eligibility criteria include an MBBS degree from a government-recognized board, one year of experience, and passing with a score of above fifty percent in the MBBS entrance exams.
  • MD in Internal Medicine: This is a three-year academic program aimed at producing specialized Medical Doctors in internal medicine without surgery. It also requires an MBBS degree, registration with the medical council, and scoring above fifty percent marks in the medical entrance exam conducted by PAHS.
