Post Basic Bachelor of Nursing aims to prepare Professional nurse with academicals, technical and Managerial competence in the role of Midwives, Community Nursing and hospitals of government and non-government entities. Tribhuvan University and Purbanchal University run Post Basic Bachelor of Nursing programs. The pedagogy have lectures, presentation, assignments, term papers, group and individual presentation, oral presentation as per the needs.
Purbanchal University also PBBN course for three academic years. The program is 174 credit hours with elective subjects, Psychiatric nursing, Professional English. One credit weighs 16 lectures of theory and one credit hour of Practical.
