MPhil program or Masters of Philosophy program offers a strong foundation in analysis methods and skills, providing students with the necessary tools to pursue a professional career in their respective fields. Conducted by Kathmandu University, the Master of Philosophy is a three-semester program. The first two semesters consist of taught courses, while the final semester is dedicated to preparing a compulsory thesis. The program is structured as a 33 to 36 credit hours curriculim, comprising core courses, specialization courses, and a research-based dissertation.
Students have the opportunity to choose from five concentration areas to specialize in, based on their individual interests. These specialization areas include Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, Development Studies, English Language Education, and Mathematics Education. The curriculum covers core courses such as Writing for Professionals, Advanced Qualitative Research Methods, Statistical Methods in Education and Social Science Research, and Research Methods in Education and Social Science, among others.

However, applicants with a Master's Degree in Education are given preference. Those who do not hold an MEd degree may be required to complete additional studies. Additionally, applicants should demonstrate fluency in reading and writing English and have knowledge related to computer operations.
