Bachelor’s in film studies (BFS)

Oscar International College offers a Bachelor’s in Film Studies (BFS) degree, which has a course duration of three years and core subjects in English, Nepali, History, Sociology & Anthropology, Psychology, and History. Besides, the students are given the choice to attain professionalism in one of the five main categories, which are direction, motion picture photography, audiography, editing, and acting. Classes run from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with Saturday and Sunday as weekends. To join the following degree, the minimum requirement is 10+2/PCL or any equivalent examinations for graduates in any discipline from any national or foreign board and university recognized by Tribhuvan University. The applicants must take part in an entrance examination as well as an interview for selection.

Short-Term Courses

Oscar International College also gives short-term courses of six months about filmmaking with the resources and arts of cinematography. The classes will focus on supervising to become a good author or director of the cinema by experienced lecturers and directors. The course will have insights into screenplay writing, audiography, cinematography, editing, and direction. The courses will be distinguished into workshops, theory, and practical, which are later evaluated with practical assignments and examinations, including writing a feature-length screenplay and directing two short movies. Class hours for this course are 4 PM to 7 PM from Sunday to Friday.
