The Ayurveda campus is the only center for studying Ayurvedic courses in Nepal. It is affiliated to Tribhuvan University (TU). This organization is the joint effort of Ayurved Vidyalaya and Chikitsalaya along with the Institute of Medicine TU formed in 1972 A.D. The college admits only 30 students every year and the course duration is for Five and a half years. It teaches three professional courses of 18 months followed by an internship of 12 months. 

This Ayurveda campus provides a bachelor's degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and a master's MD Kayachikitsa.

Faculty members working and educating at Ayurveda campus in their respective fields are well experienced. The members are highly professional and have achieved remarkable progress in the field of Ayurveda.

Facilities

The facilities provided at the Ayurveda Campus are as follows:

  • Ayurveda Campus has a library, a computer lab, and well-maintained classes.
  • Practical labs are there, equipped with materials.
  • The college canteen is also available. Sports activities are performed like basketball, cricket, football, and many more.
  • Seminars, guest lecturers, and presentations are conducted on the Ayurveda campus throughout the course, which helps in building individuals' self-confidence and makes them eager to gain more knowledge.
  • Internal assessments and assignments are carried out as well. They help to monitor progress in studies, and if some are failing, then necessary actions can be carried out to make each of the individuals capable.
  • As the course entertains a minimum number of students each year, there will be a peaceful atmosphere during the learning process. Courses are updated for both practical and theoretical purposes as newer technology grows.
  • The separated internship period makes pursuing a career in the future easy, as graduates will be able to gain so much knowledge in reputed institutions.

Additional Information

Admission Procedure:

  • Candidates are eligible for bachelor level at the Ayurveda campus if they have passed their higher secondary level (plus two sciences or equivalent) and secured at least 50 percent in English, physics, biology, and chemistry. An entrance exam of 100 marks needs to be passed by the candidates, including subjects like physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, and specific subjects. The questions are objective, and they should be able to find out the correct options and tick. There will be no negative markings on the wrong answers. Pass marks to be secured will be 50 percent.
  • To apply to MD Ayurved at the Ayurveda campus, candidates must have passed BAMS or an equivalent degree. Candidates also must complete one year of internship, which needs to be registered with the Nepal Ayurved Council. The fees are very low compared to other private colleges, which charge only Rs. 32,600 for completing the bachelor level.

Want to study the course equivalent to MBBS? Then, five and half years of course Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) provides an opportunity to gather knowledge from physiology to yoga, microbiology to biochemistry in both theory and practical field. Ayurveda Campus provides the basic doctor course in Ayurveda. Candidates appying should fill up entrance exam form and obtain 50 percent marks to pass the examinations. This degree is also equivalent to MBBS degree.
