In Nepal IAAS ( Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science) started studies of Veterinary (Animal Science) from 1993-94 (2050-051 B.S.). Their realizations were met with a successful batch of students who completed their formal education and entered the profession of Animal care like birth control, disease prevention, rescue and treatment, and rehabilitative medical practices in Nepal.

Currently, there are 3 universities that provide Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry studies in Nepal.

General Information

The Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc&AH) Course is a five-year, semester-based study program at the undergraduate level. It has 6 months of compulsory internship where students gain hands-on experience of their learned outcomes in real-life situations.

Eligibility for BVScAH

In Tribhuvan University: Should have completed Plus2 Science or ISc in Agriculture or Animal Science with English, Bio, Chemistry, and Physics as main subjects and should have 50 percent marks aggregate from a two-year program. Must pass the entrance exam conducted by Tribhuvan University on a merit basis.

In Purbanchal University: Should have completed Plus2 Science or ISc with 50 percent marks and also passed the entrance test on a merit basis conducted by Purbanchal University in Nepal.

In Agriculture Forestry University: Applicant should have passed Plus2 Science or ISc in Science, Agriculture, and Livestock with 50 percent aggregate and studied English, Chemistry, and Biology as full subjects of 100 marks each and Mathematics and Physics of 50 full marks for both.

  • Students must have an overall aggregate in the transcripts and must have C+ grades in Plus 2 to appear in this exam.

The fee structure of BVSc & AH programs in private Colleges and Institutions is relatively more than government Colleges and Institutions in Nepal. The fees are reasonable in Agriculture Forestry University and Tribhuvan University but costly in Purbanchal University from the table shown below of those respective universities offering this program in Nepal:
