GATE College (Global Academy of Tourism and Hospitality Education)

GATE College (Global Academy of Tourism and Hospitality Education) is an academic institution that offers courses related to tourism and hospitality.  It is affiliated with the Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality. The GATE is an ISO 9001:2008 certified hospitality academy in Nepal which is Located in the northern part of Kathmandu in Kapan. It is situated in a peaceful and greenery environment.

Various curriculum programs are provided which are taught by educationalists with sound academic and training experiences. This institute frequently organizes seminars that are delivered by lecturers hired from foreign nations. Students get opportunities to acquire knowledge of global industry through these seminars and lectures. Internship facilities are provided inside and outside the country. Practical knowledge and training experiences are facilitated with real-time exposure to the hotel industry. Students can experience five-star hotels so that they can have their careers working in big hotels around the world.

GATE-SHA Higher Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management is three years course including four semesters of theoretical and practical learning in college and two semesters including an internship. GATE Vocational includes training for both academics and outsiders to learn special courses such as culinary courses in food production, culinary arts, diploma courses of 9 months, bakery, barista (coffee course), and bakery. These courses help to learn skills on the practical basis of the hotel industry.

Scholarships at GATE College

Scholarships are provided to needy students who cannot afford to study the courses. HELVETAS and the employment secretariat are collaborating with GATE College to provide scholarships. With their collaboration, GATE has granted scholarships to 839 needy students.

Facilities

Facilities such as a library, computer labs, well-equipped kitchens, and sports are included to fulfill the course effectively. This institute also facilitates transportation facilities. The canteen provides food of high quality and hygienic. Curriculum activities also include industrial visits to improve the students’ knowledge. Excursions are also included to make the learning process more enjoyable.
