Overview

International Public Sector Accounting Standards also known as IPSAS is a high quality global financial reporting standard that has been developed by International Public Sector Accounting Standard board to regulate financial reporting in the public sector and in preparing general purpose financial statements. The objectives of IPSAS are:

  • Issuing international sector Public Accounting Standards
  • Promoting acceptance and convergence of this standards
  • Publishing other document to provide guidance on issues and experience in financial reporting in public sector
  • Issue of non-authoritative publications that deal with public sector financial reporting issues.
