Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery | Kathmandu University

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) offered by Kathmandu University (KU) is followed by one year of internship training. The total duration of this degree is four and a half year. The criterion and standards embraced by the KU are in strict adherence to the necessities of Nepal Medical Council.

This degree has been divided into 3 parts: the initial 2-year of study comprises of primary medical sciences and introduction to clinical sciences. In the latter two and a half years, they study the skills & principles of clinical medicine. In the final year, students are provided with internship.

Admission Requirements in Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Interested candidates must be over seventeen years of age.
  • Candidates must have to complete +2 or any Intermediate level in Science stream with the major subjects like Chemistry, Physics, Biology and English.
  • Candidates must have to obtain minimum of 50% in all the subjects or must have to complete BSC degree.

Entrance Test:

Applicant must have to face an entrance test administered as per the Entrance Examination Schedule published by the Ministry of Education.
