Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery
TU AffiliatedNAIHS(Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences) College of Medicine currently has been running Bachelor in Medicine and Bachelor in Surgery (MBBS) program under the collaboration of Tribhuvan University. The number of students to be enrolled in MBBS program is one hundred only.
The Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences (NAIHS) College of Medicine provides ten seats for the candidates nominated by the Ministry of Education. The Scholarship facilities are provided to capable students who are individually eligible. The eligibility criteria for scholarship is delivered by NAIHS (Nepal Army Institute of Health Science) College of Medicine.
PCL Nursing
CTEVT AffiliatedThe NAIHS (Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences) College of Medicine is located at Bhadrakal, Sanobharyang, Kathmandu. In the beginning, the NAIHS College of Medicine was recognized by Tri-Chandra Military Hospital (TCMH) which was established in 1925A.D. (1982 B.S.). The college was established in honor of Nepalese soldiers who were loyal to their country. It was considered one of the best hospitals of its time.
The college has much fame attached to its name. The hospital introduced fiber optic endoscope services and created a semi-automatic lab. On the other hand, the upgraded services were shifted to Shree Birendra Hospital (SBH) in Chhauni, Kathmandu. New technology such as MRI and Extra Corporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) as well as multislice Helical CT was introduced.
The college provides the scholarship to the most deserving students. The Ministry of Education also allocates seats for ten students in NAIHS (Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences). The college has a very good environment for the students. The College provides the courses such as :

Why Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences
The NAIHS (Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences) College of Medicine is stationed at Bhandarkhal, Sanobharyang Kathmandu. Tri-Chandra Military Hospital (TCMH) was established in 1925A.D. in honor of Nepalese soldiers who had dedicated their life to the First Great War it was also considered the best modern hospital of its time. Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences has its historical identity as well as its architectural importance. NAIHS has many glories attached to its name. The hospital was the first to introduce fiber optic endoscope services and establish a semi-automatic pathology lab. Later, the upgraded services were shifted to Shree Birendra Hospital (SBH) in Chhauni, Kathmandu. All the modern facilities such as MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging), Extra Corporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) as well as MultiSlice Helical CT were used in Nepal for the first time. In the history of the Nepalese Army Medical Corps(NAMC) the transformation of TCMH services to SBH and subsequently NAIHS has been considered a major achievement.
The idea of the establishment of NAIHS originated with the need of improving the patient care system within the Nepalese Army Medical Corps (NAMC) by including the medical potentialities of its health professionals. And opening its medical institutions for academics. There is a shortage of qualified Health professionals in the country.
Scholarships at Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences
The candidates seeking admission to the MBBS program at NAIHS are required to go through an entrance examination conducted by the Institute of Medicine, TU. The candidates seeking admission at the NAIHS for the BN program are required to sit for an entrance examination conducted by the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University. The CTEVT conducts the entrance examination for the PCL Nursing program. The candidates are eligible for admission as per their meritorious performances on the entrance examination.
The total number of student intake for the MBBS program is 150 out of which a total of 10 seats are allocated by the NAIHS as decided by the Ministry of Education. All the students are selected as per the merit-based performance on the entrance examination conducted by the Institute of Medicine, TU. Apart from this, there is a provision of scholarships for other eligible and deserving candidates based on the criteria put up by the NAIHS.
There is also a provision for the number of scholarships awarded to the candidates for their Nursing course at NAIHS. This is once again nominated by the Ministry of Education which includes the children of civilians as well as army personnel as per the criteria put up by the NAIHS.
