Nursing Entrance Exam

Staff Nursing entrance preparation is undertaken for candidates who want to make a career in the nursing field. Nurses look after the patients' health in the hospitals and clinics. The course will focus on health promotion, maintenance, curative, restorative, supportive care to people of all ages in the health care hospitals and clinics. This course will prepare them to make a successful career in Nursing.

Tribhuvan University provides a full four year program called B.Sc. Nursing that aims to prepare middle level nursing graduates. To get eligible in this field candidates must pass Plus 2or equivalent programs with 50 percent marks in aggregate with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology and pass the entrance exam taken by Institute of Medicine (IOM) Kathmandu, Purbanchal University, BP Koirala Institute of Health Science also takes entrance exam for admission of new batch of nursing students in their Bachelor programs.

The entrance exam is a single paper with a total of 100 marks. Candidates must have a score of minimum 50 marks to pass the entrance exam.

For Bachelor of Nursing (BN) students must have 50 percent in PCL Nursing with one year work experience. Entrance exam will be a paper of 100 marks duration. There will be 100 questions of multiple choices with 50 questions on Nursing problem solving and 50 questions on nursing core subjects.Students must have a minimum 50 percent to pass the nursing entrance exam.

Weightage of entrance questions for T.U. nursing will be based on Physics 20 marks, Chemistry 30 marks, Zoology 30 marks and Botany 20 marks. Kathmandu University nursing entrance will be more of MCQ type. Questions will come from Chemistry, Physics and Biology. The duration of the exam will be two hours. For Pokhara University students must appear for the entrance exam on BNS oncology which is a three years program and selection will be done on merit basis of entrance exam results.

Purbanchal University conducts entrance exams with one paper carrying 50 marks in English and 100 marks questions related to Nursing science and health science. For B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Science candidates in nursing program in Bachelor level have to face 200 multiple choice questions which are divided into Physics 50 marks, Chemistry 50 marks, Biology 50 marks and english Introduction to health along with aptitude of nursing and General Knowledge 50 marks. To prepare candidates must have thorough knowledge of English , science (Physics/ Chemistry/biology/zoology/Botany) with mathematics, General Knowledge to face the objective questions of the nation's highly competitive exams with limited number of seats.
