Patan Multiple Campus (PMC) was established on 2nd September, 1954 under the ministry of education, HMG. Being one of the constituent campus of Tribhuvan University, it is managed as per the rules and regulations of Tribhuvan University. It came into existence in order to fulfil the needs felt by some intellectuals to impact higher education to the youth. At present, Patan Multiple Campus runs Bachelors and Masters classes in English,  Economic, Sociology and Anthropology, Rural Development and Population in Humanities and Social Sciences, MBS in Management and M.Sc. in Physics under Institute of IST to facilitate and give opportunities of getting higher education to the all the people coming from different parts of the country as well as abroad.

TU has introduced the decentralization program with the aim of making the campus independent and fully capable of managing it in proper direction by providing quality education on a sustainable basis. Being one of the largest colleges of the country,it imparts higher education to Nepalese youth to meet the growing need of mid and high-level manpower in professional, technical and managerial fields such as trade, industry, IT, computer and various other fields, that may contribute to accelerate the development process. It moves towards self-sustained development with an emphasis laid on resource mobilization. Patan Multiple is committed to produce professional human resources in Economics, Sociology, English and Newari. Moreover, the campus is also making an attempt to develop the core of competent faculty members in the respective disciplines, hence providing them opportunities for Ph.D. degree, research, seminars, etc.

Facilities

For the students living outside of Kathmandu Valley, there are many hostels and accommodation facilities located nearby the Patan Multiple college where many students are also currently living. Since Patan Multiple is located in the busy Patan Dhoka area, the students will not find any difficulties gathering their basic necessities from shops nearby, however, the college has a canteen that serves healthy food as well. The classrooms and laboratories in Patan Multiple are provided with all the modern equipment that are needed in the curriculum for practical demonstrations.

Scholarships at Patan Multiple Campus

Patan Multiple Campus offers a variety of scholarships for deserving students. It provides scholarships on merit, need, and other criteria such as remote regions, financially weak backgrounds, and students of the martyr's family. These students will be recipients of financial assistance.
