Polygon College has been providing masters degree in mass and communication and Journalism since its establishment in 2010. The college has a mission to be one of the best-renowned colleges in Nepal. Polygon College is affiliated to Purbanchal University. It is situated at Babarmahal in Kathmandu.
Polygon College is newly established college. There are 4 batches that had joined this college. The principal of the college is Mr. Pralhad Thapa and Mr. Bijay Paudel is chairman of the college. Mr. Sujan Karki is Managing Director of the college. Mr. Ashim Shah, Mr. Sudin Pokharel, and Ms. Sharmila Shrestha are the directors of the college. Polygon College has provided advanced and digital teaching method. Classroom lectures, Presentation, guest lectures and also conduct national and international exposure related workshop, seminar and field visits. Various awareness rising program in a different discipline are conducted by Polygon College. 

The Master of Arts in Mass Communication and Journalism course is run under the Purbanchal University. Mass communication and Journalism is found very effective. It is a multi- disciplinary course. The college makes their student’s communication good and also promotes them to get skilled in all aspect of media production. They are carried out to research in a scientific manner.

Facilities

Polygon College has provided audio visual studio lab with modern equipment. Photography Lab is also providing with photo processing equipment. Computer Lab is provided with modern computer and also internet facilities. Free WI-FI is provided by the college for theirs students.

Why Polygon College

Polygon College will soon be conducting the sixth batch of MAMC and claims to have produced around 150 graduates who are now employed in high positions. The college mainly focuses on theoretical knowledge along with practical base and students can choose their interest of field such as photography, radio, television, etc. Teaching and learning methodology is interactive and students are required to perform various research papers and project works in each semester along with thesis in the final year which will develop critical thinking, decision making and learning ability in the  them. The college provides various scholarship facilities so as to encourage them to do well in their examination. Examination toppers will be awarded a total of 100% off in their tuition fee.

Scholarships at Polygon College

Polygon College has provided different types of scholarships. Individuals from remote area, native community, martyr’s family members and women are provided scholarships facilities. Semester toppers are also provided scholarship in their tuition fee of next semester.

Principal Message

The principal of the Polygon College, Mr. Parlhad Thapa said that the college has been providing a two years Masters Degree program titled Master of Arts in Mass Communication and Journalism under the affiliation of Purbanchal University since the inception of the college in 2010. The college has already produced around 150 graduates who are currently either employed at huge media houses or in high level position in companies such as program department head, reporter, station manager, etc. Polygon College focuses mainly on theoretical base along with practical knowledge since 80% students of this program are working journalists. They choose their interest of field to study such as photography, radio, television, etc. He also informed that the two year program of Master of Arts in Mass Communication and Journalism costs a total of Nrs. 1, 50,000/- and there are various scholarship facilities available for the deserving and needy ones. Working individuals can get up to 50% off and gold medalist can get 100% off in their tuition fee. He ensured the environment of the college to be friendly and interactive so, studying at Polygon College will be enjoyable.

Admission Information

Bachelor completed students with at least 40% of aggregate marks are eligible to join this program. Admission of Master of Arts in Mass Communication program is taken in every year of Nov/Dec. The first stage of admission is to fill up the form. Then college will organize entrance exam for the student. And the selected students will be promoted to the oral interview. Students who cleared the entire test will be selected for MA program at Polygon College.
