Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication (BJMC) degree equips students with theoretical concepts and practical skills needed for a thriving career in the field of Mass communication including public relations, news analysis and reporting. This program gives insight into the history and ethical issues of media functioning.

BJMC offered by the Purbanchal University (PU) is an intensive three years program. This degree is based on semester system and has altogether six semesters in total. This course comprises of thirty six courses as well as internship in the final semester. Introduction to Journalism, Introduction to Literature, Compulsory Nepali, Interpersonal Communication, Reporting, Communication, News Editing, Compulsory English, History of Mass communication, English Poetry, Sociology-Linguistic and Discourse Analysis, Web Development are some of the major courses, which the students must have to undertake while studying BMCJ.

Students interested to pursue this degree must have to complete +2 or intermediate level in any stream. Admission opens in the month of Ashoj every year.
