Admission Requirements

Because the TU BBA Finance program is so popular, the competition to get into the best colleges is a fierce one. Students have to clear three levels of testing to secure a seat for the TU BBA Finance program in a proper college. The criteria are listed below.

Academic Criteria

To start with, the FoM at TU has set an academic cut-off for the TU BBA Finance program application. You see, to create an adept business administrator the program needs to educate the enrolled students in a variety of subjects. The academic cutoff was enforced as a precautionary measure to ensure that only the students with the right aptitude to study the program approach the admission process. The criteria are as follows:

  • Students must have competed +2 with a GPA of 1.8 or more with a minimum of D+ in individual subjects.
  • As for students who passed high school or high school diplomas from boards other than NEB, they should have at least passed out in the second division, given that their board is recognized by TU as an NEB +2 equivalent.

CMAT Test
The second obstacle for students looking to enroll in a BBA Finance program at TU is the CMAT exam. The students will have to appear for a 2-hour long CMAT exam if they wish to take the course.

The Central Management Admission Test is also administrated by the Faculty of Management at TU and consists of a hundred multiple-choice questions from different academic domains. The hundred questions are evenly divided into these four segments: Verbal ability, Quantitative ability, Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness. Each section is worth 25 points. A student will have to score at least 40 points in the overall test to even qualify for the program. However, just passing the exam does not ensure a seat.

Interview
For students who have cleared the CMAT with 40 points or above, admission into a BBA Finance program is now just a step away. They will have to sit down for an in-person interview.

This is an opportunity for students to make an impression on their faculty and profess their aptitude by answering questions as they come.

Once this is over, the merit of students is calculated on the following 100-point scale:

  • 60% of CMAT Points
  • 30% of marks scored in high school
  • 10% from their performance in the interview.

The student who scores the highest on the merit scale will be prioritized for enrollment.
