In today’s world, different environmental issues like pollution, global warming, exploitation of resources etc., has become one of the most debated and controversial matters. Environmental issues are one of the major concerns for country like Nepal. The natural resources of Nepal such as river, lakes, air, land, jungles, etc. are directly affected by the environmental issues. Due to poorly managed drainage and sewage system, the rivers and land have become much polluted affecting the nearby habitats. We can observe the condition of Bagmati River, how pathetic it is. So, this shows awareness and knowledge of environment to the general people is must. The need of environment was felt when the world celebrated the Earth Day in 1970 with the support of the United Nation.
Master of Science in Environment or MSc in Environmental Science is a two year program of Tribhuvan University (TU) which consists of 64 credit hours. This program is based on semester system and has altogether 4 semesters in total. In first semester, there are compulsory courses and all the students have to study same subject. In second semester, students can choose one of the four elective courses. In third semester, there are two categories of elective courses students need to choose any one from each group. Fourth semester is research oriented, where knowledge to use technical instrument is imparted to the students.
