United Technical School (UTS) is a CTEVT-affiliated institute in Kumaripati, Lalitpur. It was established in the year 2023 AD under the management of United Academy Group (UAG). It provides training and promotes job opportunities for students willing to study Hospitality Courses like; General Cook, Barista, Bakery, Continental Cook, and Hotel Assistant.

Barista Skills - Crash Course

Acquire the essential skills to set apart on the barista career path. In the UTS Barista Skills Crash Course you will learn Insightful lessons on dialling in a grinder to recipe, pouring espresso, foaming and texturing milk from our expert coffee connoisseurs. You will gain a deeper understanding of coffee journey from farm to cup, its varieties and processing and harvesting techniques and how they impact on flavour.

You will learn to make an espresso coffee recipe from scratch and understand how to create a balanced espresso and identify roasting level and taste to adapt and adjust the recipe accordingly.

You will get further training on espresso machine, grinder, specialty coffee brewing equipment like aerpress, V60 coffee dripper, Chemex, French press, etc.

This course will cover everything needed to thrive within the hospitality industry and attend to finer details of excellent customer service.

Our course fees is Rs. 25,000 exclusive of CTEVT certification fee. However, you are required to pay additional fees to get a Level 1 CTEVT certificate.

Baker

The Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training Institute Nepal provides the bakers course of 390 hours which helps the demand of baker to be fulfilled. The professional teachers will start teaching with basic skills with menus and baking and gradually will be focusing on how to be perfect in handing the kitchen every day.  

The course includes menu preparations like hot and cold beverages, breakfast items, main courses, desserts, breads, pastries, cakes, restaurant operations and other necessary topics. 

The bakery course will have theory and practical lessons. Theory classes are for 30 students while practical class occupants will be 15 trainees.

Hotel Assistant

Hotel Assistant is a short-term course designed by the Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training.

This program is targeted towards gaining skills for employment for those who have knowledge, skills and competencies in hotel and restaurant industries.

In this three months course of CTEVT students will have knowledge about various topics including preperation of food menus, cleaning and hygiene maintaining knowledge and skills, learning life long skills, conflicts resolutions learnings, industrial skills developments, and many others topics

Continental Cuisine Cook

Continental Cuisine Cook is a short-term cooking program developed by the Council for technical and Vocational Training. This program has been designed to train and produce continental cooks who can have employment in the nation and abroad.

The trainees under the experts will learn how to use training tools, materials, and equipment to prepare the menu of continental food such as appetizers, salads, continental dishes, snacks, sausages, bread, and desserts.

The group size will not be more nor less than 20 to 25 students per class. Instructors will teach this course both in English and Nepali. Students should secure 80 percent attendance for theoretical classes and 90 percent for practical classes.

Barista

The Barista course is a short-term competency-based course designed by the Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training. This course has been designed to develop an employable workforce in the nation and around the world.

The Barista course is a comprehensive and task-oriented course of coffee making from roasting to coffee preparation and packaging stages. One will also be equipped with knowledge of the expiry date of perishable and non-perishable items, basic calculation, food poisoning, cleaning, and sanitation processes in this course from expert instructors.

This course provides the knowledge, skills, and competencies of a barrister. The three-month course of 390 hours barista course of CTEVT will also include on-the-job training.

General Cook

The General Cook program of the Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training is a three months (390 hours) program. It falls in the category of Hospitality.

Students of this program will learn the important culinary skills required for Continental, Indian, and Chinese cooking. They will study the hygiene and quality standards in food production. They will also learn the usage of cooking equipment to prepare a variety of meals.

The course is available for English and Nepali-speaking students. The intake of students is 30 per class. The composition of the General cook course is 80 percent practical and 20 percent theoretical.

Students must attend 80% of the theoretical classes during the training period. And, they have to have 90% of attendance in practical classes.
