South Asian Institute of Management (SAIM)

South Asian Institute of Management (SAIM) is an independent academic institute that was established in Kathmandu in 2005 A.D. and is currently under the chairmanship of Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani (former Minister of Finance and Foreign Affairs). The purpose of the establishment of SAIM was to provide a need-based management education system and, hence, enable management development, research, and consulting for the proper growth and development of managers, entrepreneurs, and enterprise leaders in South Asia. This is, of course, due to the fact that South Asia is emerging as the most dynamic Asian regional economic center for global trade, investment, and technological innovation.

SAIM offers academic programs that are affiliated with Pokhara University. It is dedicated to providing world-class management education and training for the purpose of meeting the demands and necessities of nations, both regionally and globally. The main mission that it has is to develop managers, leaders, and entrepreneurs with a strong sense of integrity and commitment through the creation, preservation, and dissemination of knowledge, keeping in perspective the South Asian values that best serve the interests of business, government, non-government organizations, and society as a whole. The other objectives of SAIM are as follows:

• To develop managers with efficient management knowledge, skills, and values, along with leadership qualities and a positive attitude.
• To build relevant, practical curricula grounded in sound theory and based on regional case studies and experience sharing.
• To bring out the best in them and foster creativity, innovation, and effective team building.
• To inculcate creativity and innovativeness in the faculty through continuing education, faculty development programs, consulting, and research.
• To forge institutional collaborations and joint ventures with reputed institutions globally.
• To foster close links with the business and academic communities in South Asia and elsewhere.
• To make learning and living at the institute a unique experience for all candidates, and
• To provide a sense of camaraderie and friendship that embraces all cultures and religions.
• Minimize the gap between business institutions and academic institutions in South Asia.

SAIM provides management courses for higher studies. The current courses that they offer are BBA and MBA Global Business.

Ashok Raj Pandey, the Principal of South Asian Institute of Management, believes that the challenge the institute is what motivates him to work hard. He, along with all the faculty members is working hard to produce diligent, smart, and capable leaders that can shape the overall structure of the region and can effectively address the regional and global issues.

• Besides this, it also has a court area where they can engage in multiple sports like basketball, volleyball, table tennis, football, etc.
• There is a high-speed internet facility available at SAIM to all and also an e-library facility that helps them get the required study material on-the-go. There are computer labs available to those who don’t have their own laptop that are also connected to the internet service and have the latest software installed.
• SAIM also offers transportation facilities to those living within and outside of the ring road within the valley.
• Moreover, there is also a well-furnished library with many books, resources, journals, past question papers, and selected final papers of previous toppers at SAIM to help them get better academic scores.
