Principal Message

On behalf of United College, I would like to express my commitment that we are firm in our goal and the promise that we have made to students, parents, and guardians, who have entrusted us with the education and the future of their children. Moreover, I would also like to inform our parents and guardians that UC is a part of the United Education Foundation (UEF). UEF incorporates the education system from the pre-primary level to the post-graduate level.

At United Campus, we offer students the latest technology in imparting education for their entry into the competitive world. UC has also created the Management Research and Development Center (MRDC) to encourage bachelor's and master's level students to use technology in academic activities and involve them in research work. We want to assure you once again that your children and wards are in safe hands, and we respect your trust. Thank you.

Why United College ?

By giving its students access to some of the best educational resources available, United College has established itself as a successful educational institution. They are listed below:

  • Psychosocial Counseling: The psychosocial counseling department offers students professional counseling on personal conflict situations like exam stress, decision-making problems, relationship problems, self-esteem issues, fears and personal obstacles, depressive moods, and stressful life events. It offers psychotherapy, academics and learning, career counseling, educational and psychological outreach, etc.
  • Visiting Professors or Dignitaries: This is one of the unique traditions at United College. Today, advice and counsel from specialists have become as important as book-based education. To cater to the needs of the students, we have established a tradition of holding educational seminars where well-known personalities come and deliver lectures at UC premises. The lecturers come from various disciplines: arts, science, commerce, IT, civil service, law, and judiciary.
  • HR Cell: HR Cell helps students connect with organizations. The cell welcomes different organizations for ground enrollment of undergraduates who are in the last year of the program and are probably going to graduate towards the end of the academic year. HR Cell invites prospective organizations to interview our graduates for job placement immediately after they complete their courses. It also provides internship opportunities for students.
  • Field study and industrial visits to emphasize practical study.
  • Teaching and learning through handouts.
  • Seminars and research work.
  • Well-equipped laboratories and library.
  • United Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Incubation (UCEII).

Facilities

This institution provides different facilities from which students can benefit and expand their knowledge and skills. They are as follows:

  • Student Development Program: United College has a separate Department of Student Development that tries to bridge the gap between the current academic and professional cultures prevailing in the market. The Department of Student Development reaches out and collaborates within and outside United Academy Group to provide the best opportunities and accessibility for students’ development.
  • UNITED TALENT HUNT: As guided by the mission of the United College to make our United Students sound in managerial concepts and skills in performing the managerial activities, the United College has started organizing the UTH program in order to bring together all the students under the umbrella of the United Academy Group (School, Academy, College, Cooperative, and Organic Aiselu Farm). All the present and former students of United School, Academy, and College are given a space to showcase their hidden talent and skills in various fields. The fields include songs, dance, speech, quizzes, and poems.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: United College tries to meet the student requirements for extra-curricular activities by providing facilities for games such as basketball, volleyball, table tennis, futsal, chess, and football. Students who aspire to go to various sports tournaments are given special facilities. Students can also take part in other cultural and educational activities like poetry recitation, dance, music, debate, and quiz competitions.
  • Library/E-Library: In UC, a library with necessary texts and reference books, as well as an Internet facility, is available. Books range from general to textual to provide good reading materials for students. UC has also established an e-library where students can have access to multiple contents with a potentially infinite number of resources and selections at hand. When students subscribe to e-Library, they can have easy access to peer-reviewed journals, articles, and fun-filled books, including read-along books, audiobooks, and e-books.
  • Computer Classes: In order to enable students to cope with changing technologies, UC offers computer classes to students on a non-credit basis. Various computer courses are offered to suit the capabilities of the students.
  • Excursion program: United College believes that classroom teaching alone is not sufficient, so the college organizes excursion programs within and outside the country for students to acquaint themselves with practical insights. Upon the completion of the excursion, students are required to submit reports on the program.

Achievements and Placements

Since 2002, United College has been producing thousands of management and IT (information technology) graduates with high rates of employability in the job market. Hundreds of our UC graduates are employed in the banking sector as bank managers all over Nepal; e.g., Binaya Ratna Shakya of the first batch in 1997 is one such UC-educated or trained fellow having a lucrative career as bank manager at Muktinath Bank.

UC graduates are in high demand in banking and other sectors due to the good culture, discipline, and manners they learn to develop in college. Graduate citizens are highly competent, reliable, and responsible in their workplaces. The graduates can work in various job areas like Business Tycoons, Researchers and Academics, Medical Doctors and Scientists, Engineers and Planners, Aviation Pilots, Educationists (Principals, Teachers), Policy Makers, Information Technologists, Journalists (in Print, Radio, and TV), Lawyers and Advocates, Social Workers and Politicians, Administrators, Film Makers and Beauty Pageants, British, Nepal Army and Police, and Development Experts.

To produce maximally saleable graduates, UC frequently provides “banking career” seminars and training, including others at the college. UC is always committed to imparting quality education beyond the regular university curriculum. The college does not only provide curricular knowledge; it also considers practical knowledge as well as helping students cope with the competitive job market. That is why UC designs skill enhancement packages to enhance the skills and competencies of UC’s students.

On January 22, 2021, UC organized an event for students to meet with a reputed bank administrator. The “banking career” interaction session was one of the main attractions for the management students. In this session, the attitudes, traits, characteristics, and leadership qualities of a banker were thoroughly discussed. Our students were found to be interested in discussing the clients’ perceptions. The session focused on how one can initiate a banking career and the sorts of skills and knowledge required in the profession. The session lasted for one and a half hours, and almost 60 students, including those from BBS 4th year, attended. This interactive session encouraged students to ask questions about the banking career. Gyanendra Karki, the Head of Administration, Siddhartha Bank, Head Office, Hattisar, was the main speaker of this program. UC students were highly impressed, and as per their feedback, it was very effective, skills-enhancing, and useful.
