Chief Justice Sushila Karki faces impeachment proposal
Ruling Party Nepali Congress and CPN Maoist jointly filed an impeachment proposal against Chief Justice Sushila Karki on Sunday afternoon. The proposal has been filed blaming her excessive indulgence into the matter related to the appointment on Chief of Nepal Police. She has been accussed for voilating her limitations and going beyond the rights of CJ. Moreover, the two political parties feels that she has been influencing her coworkers in the matter related to government appointments.
The constitution has the provision that one fourth of the total members of Parliament can file the impeachment proposal on the ground of his or her failure in fulfilling the assigned duties because of serious violation of Nepal constitution and law.
